The 95% alumina metallized ceramic ring is designed for electrical, electronic, vacuum and ceramic-to-metal assembly applications that require reliable insulation together with a bondable metal interface.
Manufactured from 95% alumina ceramic, the ring provides good electrical insulation, mechanical strength, dimensional stability and resistance to high-temperature operating environments. Its large OD216 × ID40 × 20 mm structure makes it suitable for applications requiring a rigid ceramic insulating and supporting component.
The ceramic surface is metallized using a Mo/Mn metallization system with a layer thickness of 8 ± 1 μm, followed by 9 ± 1 μm electroplated nickel. This metallized structure provides a suitable surface for subsequent brazing, joining and ceramic-to-metal assembly processes while maintaining the insulating properties of the alumina ceramic substrate.
The nickel-plated metallized layer also helps provide a stable and consistent interface for further assembly operations.
